Lani joined Intellifin Tax in May 2010 as a Director. Lani started her tax career as part of KPMG’s tax team and worked in both the VAT and Corporate Tax divisions for more than 5 years and held the position of Tax Manager when she left in June 2006. During her tenure at KPMG she was involved in large corporate restructuring transactions, share schemes, BEE deals and provided ad hoc tax advice to mining companies.
She joined SARS’s Advance Tax Ruling unit in 2006 and her function as ATR Manager involved interpreting the tax implications of complex transactions in order to issue advance tax rulings. Lani joined Werksmans Attorneys in 2009 as a Tax Director servicing clients across a broad spectrum of industries, and advised on VAT, corporate income tax, securities transfer tax, international tax and other related tax matters. The focus of her work was advisory services, but she was also involved in a number of tax compliance matters. Lani is a registered tax practitioner and has practised tax since 2002.
Lani is a sports enthusiast and gives expression to this passion via ice hockey, action netball, golf and squash. Lani enjoys spending her free time in the kitchen enhancing her culinary skills or tending to her small menagerie.
